What is an Absence Management Medical Referral?

An absence management medical referral is medical which is undertaken by a qualified, experienced occupational health doctor to establish the cause to an absence from the workplace. It will also help to provide a pathway for the client to return to work and prevent absences from recurring.

How to Make a Referral?

1.     Contact IOH by telephone or email

2.     Agree an appointment time & date

3.     Complete referral form provided

4.     Send in the completed referral form before the appointment

5.     Attend appointment at the agreed time & date

• Report will be sent to the client

• Upon consent the report will be sent to the employer
